Things I Know #49- Technology can bite me

I think it is time for my computer to go to the doctors and have a medical.

It has been a piece of junk lately.

I have had it switched off for 3 days!!  It seems to be working again now.  For how long I do not know!!

Song of the week is a catchy number with such a cool film clip!!

Have a goos one guys!!

Smile for one perfect moment!!

 '

This video should be compulsory viewing for anyone thinking about having kids!!  It is reality, pure reality!!

I am linking up with Kylie who has a fab new link up called One Perfect Moment.  I am hoping that for one perfect moment the whole world lightens up, stops taking its self so seriously and laughs and relaxes rather than be so uptight and politically correct.

Today I choose to crack a smile, have a giggle, a belly laugh, chuckle etc rather than be cranky and grumpy.

I hope more people do the same thing today!!

I am also linking up with One Mother Hen for #openslather and My Home Truths for I Must Confess (this weeks confession topic is your middle name.  I don't have one and neither does the HOTH.  I wanted my boys to have a middle name and they each have a special name!!)

Things I Know #48- The Tuesday edition

Clearly it is not Friday today, I do know this!!  So do not freak out if you are seeing this before Friday!!

After a quick think about my week this week I came to the conclusion that if I wanted #tik to be as promised up on Friday morning at 6am I should do it now in the spare 2 minutes available!!

Now I know you will probably say why not schedule it for Friday??  Well technology has not been my friend lately and I would be more than likely to schedule it for 2016 or something like that!!

In fact after last Friday's dramas of an updating computer I am not risking any more dramas!!

The computer actually decided to update itself again on Saturday afternoon when I had the chance to have a sneaky 5 minutes of quiet time.  It really hates me!!

We are well and truly back in the swing of the whole real life thing.  The holidays are a distant memory!!

In the next couple of weeks life will get even busier,  To the point on one day we will have to be in two places at the same time.  I am considering buying a helicopter to get us from point A to point B in the shortest possible time!!

In other news I had a very embarrassing but funny incident a couple of weeks ago.  It was a rainy Thursday morning.  One of those days where we were running a little late, we walked out the front door to walk to the bus stop and the bus drove straight past.  Note to self- on rainy days the bus runs early as no one gets on it!!  Anyway I was going to have to drive to preschool as it was drizzling so we all piled into the car and I was going to drop year 1 kid off after the preschool run, no biggie.  After the preschool drop off I headed to school.  As I headed down past the first turn off to the school on my way to the second turn off a highway patrol car saw me and put his lights on.  I turned into the drop off road and pulled over and so did the police car.  I turned the engine off and then realised that I had had my high beams on.  To top it off I also realised my licence was in my wallet which was in the pram in the back yard.  I was shitting bricks I won't lie.  I am very grateful to the policeman as after he subjected me to a breath test and a wait while he checked all my details he let me off because I have an exemplary driving record (yes I am that good!!).  I swore never to drive with my high beams on and to always have my licence on me at all times and that was the end of that.  Clearly he understood what life with kids is like and that lets face it shit happens.  Year 1 kid is still carrying out about how I was arrested because my car wasn't registered.  For the record it is registered in the HOTH's name not mine and I was not arrested, I do not know where this kid gets his over exaggerations from!!  Probably half the school drove past while I was sitting there being breath tested etc.  We then had to wait until the police car left so I could drive to the top of the street and stop in a no stopping zone to drop off the over exaggerator!!  Luckily one of his mates walked past and he got out and walked with him and his mum, happily telling the story of my arrest!!

Lastly, and no I have not lost my mind, I am signing up to do The Colour Run.  Aliens have not invaded my body and stolen my brain!!  I am going to do a 5k run/walk/crawl/shuffle/roll!!  Yes I know this is something I never thought would do let alone look forward to but there we have it!!

Song of the week is not unanimous.  I was told to turn off the "girl music" in the car yesterday to which I responded like the worlds biggest mum by saying when you get a car you can pick the music!!

Things I know #47- Goon bags

Massive technical problems this morning, massive.

Apparently the lappy needs to update itself.and has been doing so for the last 30 minutes

I knew I should have finished this last night!

Stupid technology!!

I hope your week has been less annoying than mine!!

I will add the linky once the computer decides to work!!

UPDATE!!

At school bus time it still had more to update but now approximately 7 hours later it is now functioning again!!

I had to go out hence only getting back to this now!!

Song of the week goes to this catchy number in honour of the 50th anniversary of the goon bag/cask wine/ box wine being invented!!

As someone who may have had my fair share of the box of magic I would like to congratulate the inventor and thank him for providing such a vital service!!

Cheers!!

I absolutely swear #tik will be up at 6am next Friday, rain hail, shine or updating computers!!

#IBOT randomness

I am loving this song, loving it.  First time I heard it I loved it.  Then I heard who the artists are- 2 tools and one of the most talented people in the whole world ever.  Sir Paul what on earth were you thinking!!  I am now embarrassed to admit to liking this but whatever!!

Dear Foo Fighters

I would have sold my first born to get a ticket to see you guys but the stupid adult angel sitting on my shoulder made me realise going to a mega awesome concert on a Thursday night was just never going to happen.

Thursday night, seriously??  Who in the mother of all hells came up with that date??  Because yeah Thursday night totally works for me, as does the Friday seedy morning after.  Maybe if it wasn't a school night!!

Maybe next time you awesome legends!!  For now I will just enjoy your music via the tube as I keep forgetting to buy a cd!!  Being a responsible, mature grown up really sux.

Last word goes to The Street.  Love the positive message in this song!!

Decrease time for fewer Tortillas. Increase time when using a microwave oven lower than 1100 watts.
  • 4Serve warmed Tortillas filled with lettuce, Mexican rice, and chicken and topped with Mild Mexican Salsa.
Find the recipe here!!

I am that over coming up with dinner ideas lately it is a complete joke.  So when the HOTH pointed this recipe out in a magazine a few weeks ago I was all over it!!

I cooked plain chicken for the kids and gave them rice without coriander.  I had brought them some bread rolls but they ended up eating the tortillas!!  So next time I make it I will be adding some frozen veg in with the rice and buying an extra pack of tortillas!!

I call this a winning meal as it was easy, quick and we all ate it (which is rare)!!

Sadly the dickhead factor has been megs high in life this week and I am following the old saying ïf you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all"
